Memorial Day Weekend

Well here we go! The beginning of the season. Can you believe it’s going to be June 1st next week. The Bay is alive with Bass and they are all over the place from Barnstable to Wellfleet. Guys have been catching them on Whip-it-Eels, Crystal Minnows and Hydro Squirts, and the Umbrella rigs. Pleasant Bay has also been producing some nice keeper size bass as well as lots of schoolies. The action from the beaches is still good too with night time being the right time when the tides are right. I was told that someone caught and released a 76 inch tuna on the SW corner today. That would be the first one of the season that I am aware of. I also heard reports that tuna were seen in Cape Cod Bay today too so who knows. I caught my first fish on the SW corner this time last season so hopefully these rumors are all true. I will start tuna fishing out east of Chatham next week and I have openings if you want to get in on the early season bite. “Tuna Fever” is in the water and I will get her all rigged and she will be ready for the opening day next Tuesday June 1st. It should be some fun with the fish being BIG this year. We will still be using all stand-up tackle and this will give you the fight of your life if you get into a big fish!!!! The store hours will continue to be Mon-Friday 9am to 5:30 pm, Sat. 8am to 5:30 pm and closed on Sundays. We will start our summer hours in a couple of weeks. Good Luck. It’s All About The Bite!! Capt. Eric
