The Hook-Up! Open House & Sale

Saturday April 16th will be our 11th Annual Grand Opening and Spring Open House. We will have sales all day and great food and drink so bring the whole family down and help us celebrate. Dan and the crew have been making stuffed quahogs all week and we will have the grill going all day. There will also be door prizes and special sales as well as a tent set up in the parking lot with deep discounted items from clothing, to lures, to rods and reels, certain squid rigs and offshore lures, and line. The tent sale will be a bonanza of savings and everything will be marked down at least 30%-70%. Everything under the tent most go to make room for the new products that we have added. Don’t forget to bring your reels in for service or to be re-lined too. Don’t wait till the fish start biting. Get it done now. We hope to see you there.

I would also like to remind you that during the school vacation week, starting on April 16th and running through the 22nd, we will be holding our 8th Annual Kids Freshwater Fishing Tournament. This tournament is open to any kid from the age of 3 to 18. We have 4 age groups and five fish categories as well as the Master Angler awards. This way the little kids compete against the little kids and so on. The tournament is free and every kid that enters gets a free tournament t-shirt and a free awards banquet. This is a point’s tournament and kids win for the most fish and not the biggest fish. This year we will also be adding an adult’s tournament for Large mouth and Small mouth bass. You most be fishing with a tournament registered child in order to fish in the Adult tournament. Call the shop for a copy of the rules and we hope to see you out fishing with the kids!

I also would like to take this time to remind everyone that the 2011 Fishing season is right around the corner. It seems with all the turmoil with the regulations that everyone seems to be in some kind of funk and people feel like there is gloom and doom all around them. Well I am here to remind all of you that we will all be fishing for tuna this year no matter what!!! I will have both the “Tammy Rose” and “Tuna Fever” available for bluefin tuna trips starting the end of May and both boats will be fishing out east of Chatham. I have decided not to start the season in Rock Harbor and instead I will have the “Tammy Rose” on her dock in Stage Harbor ready to rock the early season bluefin bite. That is how confidant I am that the fish will be here, and be here big time! My June is already getting very busy with charters because the last two years have been excellent fishing out east of Chatham. The tuna fish have been rocking the Carolina’s for the past 6 weeks, with lots of really big fish being caught with the vast majority of them being released. The tuna fish will be here in 6 weeks and when the first tuna is caught off the Cape the fever will start. Regardless of what the future holds, this season is going to be game on!!!!! Do not get left behind because trust me when I tell you that the fish are going to be big and they are going to be here. The only question you have to ask is; Are you going to be ready!?!?!? Do not wait and miss the first run, because it’s going to be awesome!!!
