Welcome to mynew Captain’s Blog!

Dear Fish Fans,

Welcome to my Captain’s Blog! Arrh maties.. I will try to keep this updated for the remainder of the summer and into the fall fishing season. I use to have this ability on my old website and I am very happy to have it back.

Just a quick note and a few updates. The tuna fishing out east has been red hot. It has slowed down in the last few days for me, with this high heat and flat calm seas, it has been very hard to catch them. But the good news is there is a lot of fish around. We have been seeing them everywhere and all day long. They are keying in on small bait fish and they have become very hard to catch on the troll, but this will change.

I still have two seats open for the Oak Bluffs Shark Tourney which runs from July 22nd through the 25th. The boat is going so if you want to be in let me know. I have a slip on the dock at Oak Bluffs and hotel rooms at the Whesley so you wake up and you are 5 mins to the boat. The other two guys have ponied up the $2000 each, which includes the fishing, the hotels, and tournament activities so the boat is going to fish the tournament for sure. I would love to get at least one more guy on the boat so please give me a call if you want to fish this tourney. It is a great time and the shark fishing is a lot of fun with bent rods most of the day. Call the shop at 508-240-0778.

I also would like to let you know that I am now open for the Nantucket Bluefin Blast Tuna Tourney which takes place Sept. 11th-12th. I had this booked but due to a scheduling conflict with my crew they had to bail out. This is the tourney we caught that 775lb fish in last September. The boat and the tourney would cost $4200 for 4 anglers. You would have to find lodging on the island but this is a great tourney and it is a trolling only format. We would go to Nantucket on Friday the 10th, fish the 11th and 12th, and return to Chatham on Monday the 13th. Please call the shop if you’re interested in fishing this event. We took 4th place last year and won the Sunday prize for the biggest fish.

After the Shark Tourney we will be starting tuna trips on the “Tammy Rose” sailing from Stage Harbor in Chatham. If you want to tuna fish with us give us a call soon as primetimes are going fast. The last 5 weeks have been great fishing on the “Tuna Fever”, and we have caught over 30 bluefin, but I am sooooo ready for the flybridge and twin diesels and two mates and 7 rods! Yeah baby!!!! We will be available from July 27th through November 7th.
